Basic Hair Care Steps

Basic Hair Care Steps

Hair is the most noticed thing after talent. Not only making ourselves presentable and confident, but it also represents the health of the person. In this article, let’s see the basic steps to take care of our hair. Before starting to take care of our hair, let’s know what hair is and its structure.

“Beware of her fair hair, for she excels
All women in the magic of her locks;
And when she winds them round a young man’s neck,
She will not ever set him free again.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Hair is a protein filament that grows from follicles found in the dermis. Follicles cover the human body, apart from areas of glamorous skin that produce thick terminal and fine vellus hair. The most common interest in hair is hair growth, hair type, and hair care. Overall, hair is a byproduct of the human body. It is important to take care of your hair to present yourself as bold and confident.

These are the simple basic steps that everyone can do in a routine to take care of hair. I would suggest this basic OCCS step follow

  1. Oiling
  2. Cleansing
  3. Conditioning
  4. Serum

1. OILING:

Oiling hair is a part of the cultural regime in many parts of India. especially in Southern parts of Asia. It is necessary to provide good massage to hair by oiling. Blood circulation becomes more when we oil our hair. Oiling also prevents the harmful effects of shampoo or water that we are going to use after this. Preferably, warm oil massage should do at least one hour before shampooing the hair.

Hair type selects Oil. Thin hair people can opt for lighter oil like coconut and almond oil. Thick and dry hair people can use sesame oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, and castor oil. A mix of several oils can also use for oiling. Oiling is one of the steps to take care of our hair.

2. CLEANSING:

Everyone uses a cleanser in the form of shampoo to cleanse the scalp. The major mistake that many people do is using too many quantities to clean the scalp. Our scalp is similar to any skin in our body. Only a limited quantity diluted with water can do its job to the scalp.

People should be more confident while choosing a shampoo. When we directly apply shampoo to the scalp, chemicals present in the shampoo can penetrate the bloodstream and can cause damage to the body. So choosing shampoos that are free from harmful chemicals is necessary.

3. CONDITIONING:

Conditioning is the step that many of us are skipping. After cleansing or hair might have lost its moisture. So to re-boost it, we should condition our hair. Conditioner should apply only to the hair and not to the root or scalp. Extra conditioner can apply if we want to keep split ends away to the ends of the hair and massage it. Conditioner can keep for about 3-5 minutes in the hair. After applying the conditioner, it should wash thoroughly with plenty of water. Leaving behind some conditioner in the hair can harm hair structure.

4. SERUM:

After the hair washes, it should dry with air or under the fan (preferably). Avoid heating tools or blow-dry whenever possible. The serum is in lighter consistency thinner than oil, which can apply to the strands of hair. There are many hair serums available in the market. We should choose serum according to the hair type. The serum can apply to damp wet hair. Once your hair is completely dried, we can comb and style it.
