Hair is the most noticed thing after talent. Not only making ourself presentable and confident, it also represents the health of the person. Before start to take care of our hair, lets know what a hair is and its structure.
Hair is a protein filament that grows from follicles found in the dermis. The human body, apart from areas of glamorous skin, is covered with follicles which produce thich terminal and fine vellus hair. Most common interest in hair is focussed on hair growth, hair type and hair care. Overall, hair is a byproduct of human body. It is important to take care of your hair to present yourself with bold and confident.
These are the simple basic steps that everyone can do in a routine to take care of hair. I would suggest this basic OCCS step to follow
1. OILING :
Oiling hair is a part of cultural regime in many parts of India. especially in Southern parts of Asia. It is necessary to provide good massage to hair by oiling. Blood circulation becomes more when we oil our hair. Oiling also prevents harmful effects of shampoo or water that we are going to use after this. Preferably, warm oil massage should be done atleast one hour before shampooing the hair.
Oil can be selected based on the hair type. Thin hair people can opt of lighter oil like coconut and almond oil. Thick and dry hair people can use seasame oil, jojoba oil , olive oil and castor oil. Mix of several oils can also be used for oiling.
2. Cleansing :
Cleanser in the form of shampoo is used by almost everyone to cleanse scalp. Major mistake that many people do is using too may quantity to clean scalp. Our scalp is similar to any skin in our body. Only limited quantity diluted with water can do its job to the scalp.
People should be more confident while choosing shampoo. When we direclty apply shampoo to the scalp, chemicals present in the shampoo can penetrate into the blood stream and can cause damage to the body. So choosing shampoos which are free from harmful chemicals is neccessary.
Conditioning is the step that many of us are skipping. After cleansing, or hair might have lost its moisture. So to reboost it, we should condition our hair. Conditioner should be applied only to the hair and not to the root or scalp. Extra conditioner can be applied if we want to keep split ends away to the ends of the hair and massage it. Conditoner can be kept for about 3-5 minutes in the hair. After applying the conditioner, it should be washed thoroughly with plenty of water. Leaving behind some conditioner in the hair can harm hair structure.
After the hair wash, it should be dried with air or under the fan (preferably). Heating tools or blow dry should be avoided whenever possible. Serum is in lighter consistency thinner than oil, which can be applied to the strands of hair. There are many hair serums available in the market. We should choose serum according to the hair type. Serum can be applied to the damp wet hair. Once yor hair completly dried, we can comb and style it.
